The old country town Feldkirchen is conveniently situated in central Carinthia, between 550m and 900m above sea level. The region around the old country town seems like an endless green carpet - rolling hills and lush meadows in the midst of the woods.
In such lovely countryside are nestled the associated localities Waiern – St. Ulrich – Glanhofen – St. Nikolai – St. Martin – Sittich – Klein St. Veit – Radweg.
The southeastern foothills of the gently rolling Nockberge Mountains feature the region and become an unforgettable experience for hikers. On well signposted paths you easily get at the most beautiful destinations: old fortified churches, sleepy little villages or one of the clean, warm bathing lakes of the Feldkirchen area.
Lake Maltschacher See, – for example – with an adjoining lakeside beach and campsites – situated right on the “doorstep”. Or the idyllic lake Flatschacher See. More lake favourable? There you are! Choose between lake Urbansee, Goggausee, Haidensee or lake Ossiach and lake Wörther (the last ones within a few minutes driving distance). Cycling enthusiasts will aslo enjoy the cycling path from Feldkirchen to lake Ossiach.
